REMOVE Foaming Cleanser was created for people who want a cleanser that foams without relying on sulfates or a harsh, stripped-clean skin feel.
The formula uses a balanced surfactant system built with Cocamidopropyl Betaine and Decyl Glucoside. Together, these ingredients help create a light, satisfying lather that lifts away daily debris, excess surface oil, and residue while keeping the cleanser’s feel soft and comfortable.
The finished product is pH-balanced at 5.0, which sits within the skin’s naturally acidic range. This matters because pH can influence how a cleanser feels on the skin and how well certain preservation systems perform. A well-designed cleanser is not defined by whether it foams; it is defined by the type of surfactants used, the pH, the supporting ingredients, and the performance of the finished formula.
To support a comfortable after-feel, the formulation includes vegetable glycerin, aloe, hemp seed oil, jojoba oil, Glyceryl Oleate Citrate, and Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride. Glycerin and aloe help support surface hydration, while the plant lipid and ester ingredients contribute softness, slip, and a conditioned post-rinse feel. These ingredients do not turn cleansing into a leave-on moisturizer, but they help make the wash phase feel less bare and more balanced.
REMOVE's current formula is also PEG-free. Color Up previously used a PEG-7 material and later replaced it with a PEG-free, vegetable-derived emulsifier containing Glyceryl Oleate Citrate and Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride. This material helps stabilize the formula and supports the creamy, conditioned skin feel of the cleanser.
REMOVE Foaming Cleanser includes 150mg of CBD isolate as part of its skin-conditioning profile. CBD is being studied for several skin-relevant pathways, including comfort, sebocyte behavior, and inflammatory-signaling models. In this cleanser, CBD is best understood as a cosmetic skin-conditioning ingredient that supports a calm and comfortable skin feel, not as a drug or medical treatment.
Finally, REMOVE uses a preservation system containing Benzyl Alcohol, Salicylic Acid, and Sorbic Acid. In this rinse-off cleanser, salicylic acid is included as part of the preservation and pH-support system rather than as a featured exfoliating active. As with any water-containing cosmetic, preservative performance should be confirmed through finished-product challenge testing.

The Sulfate-Free Surfactant System
Coco Betaine — Mild amphoteric surfactant derived from coconut. Effective cleansing without disrupting the skin’s natural pH or lipid barrier. Appropriate for all skin types including sensitive and reactive— mild, non-irritating, and pH-compatible with skin's natural acid mantle (4.5–5.5).
Polyglucose — Sugar-derived non-ionic surfactant derived from glucose and coconut fatty alcohols. . Gentle, biodegradable, and skin-compatible. Works synergistically with Coco Betaine for thorough yet non-stripping cleansing.
Together they create a gentle, effective sulfate-free cleansing system that removes impurities without disrupting the skin's microbiome or lipid barrier. Appropriate for sensitive, reactive, and compromised skin types.
The Conditioning Complex
Organic Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia chinensis)
A liquid wax ester compositionally similar to human sebum. In a cleanser, Jojoba functions as a conditioning agent that prevents the post-cleanse tightness caused by surfactant-induced lipid removal. Supports barrier integrity during the cleansing process and leaves skin feeling supple rather than stripped.
Organic Hemp Seed Oil
Omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acid ratio of approximately 3:1, mirroring the skin's natural lipid composition. Contributes to barrier lipid support during cleansing and provides lightweight nourishment that rinses clean without residue. Non-comedogenic.
Organic Aloe Vera
A well-documented soothing and hydrating botanical. In a cleanser, Aloe provides immediate comfort and hydration support, helping to counteract any potential sensitivity from the cleansing process. Particularly effective for reactive, sensitized, and redness-prone skin.
Vegetable Glycerin
