Hear from Our Three Color Up Co-Founders

And Meet the Women Behind House of VXN

We’ve operated as a licensed hemp skincare lab since 2015. Everything is formulated and crafted in-house. We’ve trained thousands of professionals across the country and partnered with estheticians, massage therapists, and wellness providers in nearly every state. Over the past decade, 98% of those partners have been women. That’s not a marketing angle—it’s a fact.

In 2020, we moved into a new location—our fourth move at the time. The building was purchased by our landlords with the intention of selling it to us, marking what would have been our first fully owned space. By the end of 2022, shortly after shifts in women’s access to care changed across the U.S., two of our three original co-founders made the decision to leave.

In June of 2023, our company changed hands–however, only two of our three original co-founders exited—on their terms, for their own reasons. One original co-founder remained, and the women who had already been holding this business together alongside them, also chose to stay. No men stayed. That’s a fact.

We gave up salaries. We worked through supply chain breakdowns, restructured our wholesale systems, and paid the people who left—while absorbing the full cost of continuing forward.

That’s where House of VXN begins

The name is new. The work is not.

Every formula is still here. Every ingredient chosen intentionally, and every product made with love.

Every system, label, training, and tool has been rebuilt by a small team of women who never stopped showing up—no matter how difficult, how disappointing, or how unsupported it became.

In early 2025, we moved our entire wellness center and lab into a smaller space, with the intention of focusing on what we believe will make the greatest impact: our products. We’ve had our actual hands in our small batch lab since 2015. Our now co-owner Amber has worked in that lab since 2018. Marrana has been educating students and customers since 2019. Brigitte, Marrana, and all of our, mom, has been working alongside Amber in the lab since the day we transitioned to VXN. And Shauna, our original co-founder, has been here since day one—and has never left.

Every decision—especially the ones that weren’t understood—was made with care, clarity, and a commitment to do the least harm and the most good by our entire team. That's been our North Star since the beginning–and it has never failed us.

Yes, we’ve lost some of you during the pause in 2024 and due to the name change being women-forward. And had we not paused and changed our name, we wouldn’t still be here, standing. We’ll never be for everyone. And none of us should ever strive for that.

The women leading House of VXN today have earned their place through years of leadership in sales, education, lab management, and the kind of invisible labor that keeps small businesses alive. We built this business together through community support, and our partnerships with esthetics schools like Paul Mitchell, Aveda Institutes, the School of Botanical & Medical Esthetics, ASCP, Oncology Spa Solutions, Qua Bath and Spa at the Cesaers and  boutique wellness centers across the country.

Since 2018 our co-owners have worked together–designing and printing labels, choosing and ordering packaging, packing and shipping orders, building our website, training spa teams, educating students, reformulating the products you know and love, answering customer questions; all while absorbing rising costs without sacrificing quality.

And sh@t happens, it always has, and as soon as we find out about a formulation issue or packaging fail, we look into it and begin seeking solutions–exactly the same as when we were Color Up. We process payments with 10X the fees of standard businesses just because we work with hemp. We've dealt with regulations, compliance, bookkeeping, payroll, and taxes ourselves the last two years without funds for the teams who did them for us in the past—we didn't have much training in the areas of the business those who left managed, so we had to learn quickly, what they had 8 years to understand.

We are proud to say House of VXN is now 100% women-owned.

Not because it’s trendy. Not because we “don’t support men.” But because it’s the truth. And we’re not going to diminish that truth to make anyone more comfortable.

One of the co-founders of House of VXN is also the co-founder of Color Up Therapeutics. She has been fighting for legitimacy in the cannabis space for decades—long before this brand existed. To be asked now to downplay the fact that she and the women alongside her have kept this alive—without rest, without pay, and without recognition—is not just disrespectful. It’s false.

We’ve chosen to bring back our original triangle. That logo was created by our co-founder after utilizing Triangle Breathing and Cannabis to manage anxiety and stress during her early years in entrepreneurship. Alongside Reiki training and massage therapy school from 2013 to 2016, the triangle became a grounding tool. The seven spaces represent the chakras, and the line down the middle—our breath, our life force.

The triangle breathing ritual used in our education and treatments was created by our team of female professionals when we launched our professional line. It’s just as effective now as it was then—and it’s staying.

So if you’re wondering whether the heart behind this brand is still intact—It is. More than ever.

We've been tested, questioned and challenged more in the last two years, than the eight before, and we are still here.

House of VXN isn’t new.

We support both women and men. And we are women, focusing on what we know best—so we can make the greatest impact in our lives, our communities, and the world around us by creating tools that support small businesses in doing the same.

When we created our skincare line, our male formulator was heavily influenced by our female founder and her circle of massage therapists and estheticians who were educators, school owners, and licensed pros. Over the years, we talked about launching a men’s line many times. We eventually launched Man Up—our first product designed for men. It didn’t perform the way we hoped. So now, we’re focusing on women. And he’s moved on to focus on men.

How is that not exactly how it should be?

And does it mean he hates women? No.

So why are we being told that focusing on women means we no longer support men? We do. And we especially support men who support women.

This is our house and we love it here. We love it so much we were willing to marry it. And we are proud of what we have created together. You're welcomed to join us, challenge us, or avoid us–we'll be here doing what we do best–pioneering the cannabis infused beauty and wellness movement by empowering the women who power the revolution.
